Isolated

Posted by: Kristine   in Kristine Writes

Just a quick note to let you know that I have been hospitalized again.  This time it is not for heart trouble.  Apparently I managed to pick up a strain of the flu, although not swine flu, and bacterial pneumonia.  So I’m pretty sick.

I was admitted to the hospital last night.  I am in isolation, since apparently I’m quite contagious.  That means I can’t leave the room I’m in, and everyone who comes in the room has to wear the yellow gowns and the masks and the gloves like they do in the movies.  It’s kind of trippy.

The good news is they are already starting to get my temperature under control.  Last night, at its highest, it was over 103.  This morning it’s more in the normal high range, which is a good thing.

Obviously I will have some time on my hands, so I will try to get some stuff done while I’m here.  Dayne has written a great post for us and I want to put that up.  There are new bloggers I need to add to the blogroll.   I also would like to add a donation box.

My main problem right now is my mind is still kind of fried.  If my temperature stays on the low side of high, that should get better daily.  A reasonable amount of sleep should help too.

Just wanted to let you know what’s going on.  If anyone has any suggestions for things I could do while I’m here, please share.  I have a heap of time to fill.

Hey Kristine. The first thing is we all hope you’re better soon. I’m sure you’d rather be home than in the hospital. I spent a good deal of the end of 2007 and mid-2008 in the hospital and I know it’s no fun. My suggestion, while you’re in the hospital is rest, rest, rest. That is, if they’ll let you. I’ll keep you in my thoughts, as I’m sure the rest of our blogging family will. Keep up updated on your recovery.

I just want to say I hope you get better soon. Don’t try to rush back into anything, let yourself get better in it’s own time. We will be here when you come back.

I share the feelings expressed by Shoreman and Rick, Kristine! Rest is a priority. It might be tough, but, limit your time worrying about everything in OBS land. Take one day at a time and get better!

Kristine, let me echo the above mentioned sentiments too. One day at a time, glad it is not your heart and we will be here. Priority is YOU getting well and OUT of the hospital. The rest will take care of itself. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and you didn’t miss a thing on the last elk hunt.

I know where you’re coming from. I was put in the hospital on my 37th b-day with bacterial pnuemonia. I spent 4 days there and couldn’t go back to work for 2 weeks!

Take care and get some writing done! Get well!

Wishing you a fast recovery and hope you´ll feed good soon! Take it easy, pneumonia isn´t fun (I had it 5 times as a child), so don´t rush with anything. Take care.

I am sorry to hear that you’re back in the hospital. Heidi and I hope that the doctors have out and running about in no time. Get well soon if not earlier.

As for suggestions what you could do while in the hospital. Rest, Rest, Rest. That’s what hospitals are for.

I had lots to do recently but the promised column for the OBS will get sent out to you this week.

Hey Kristine,

As your (not) doctor, I highly recommend getting better.

You’re kinda important to our little community… even to those of us who aren’t always so actively involved.
